The mission of the award

Éva Fahidi lost 49 relatives in the Holocaust. After decades of silence, she dedicated the last years of her life to future generations: she tirelessly fought against exclusion in lectures, books, and on stage.

He was convinced that hatred is not inevitable. It can be stopped if we instill in children the acceptance of diversity and learn that there is no difference in value between people based on origin, religion, or skin color.

The Fahidi Éva Award carries this spirit forward: it recognizes exemplary individuals who, through their work, build a more accepting, compassionate society by inspiring, persuading, and guiding young people.

Subject of the award and the awardees

The Fahidi Eva Prize will be awarded in 2026 to up to three individuals who have demonstrated outstanding work in combating exclusion and hatred, particularly by inspiring the younger generation. The prize is open to anyone, and can be awarded to anyone from anywhere in the world who meets the criteria.

The awardees will receive the award based on the majority decision of the jury. In addition to the symbolic work of fine art, the awardee may also receive financial support, depending on the nature of their activity. The jury, or individual members of the jury, may also award a special prize in addition to the three prizes.

Who can be nominated?

Anyone, regardless of nationality or occupation, who works to build a more accepting, compassionate society through their personal example and work can be nominated for the Fahidi Éva Award.

We are primarily looking for nominations from – but not exclusively – teachers, healers, artists, social workers, business and media professionals whose work directly inspires the younger generation to reject exclusion and hatred.

Nomination criteria and exclusion conditions

Conditions for nomination

Exemplary and inclusiveness: The award is open to anyone whose work in the field of inclusion and acceptance is exemplary and who actively contributes to shaping a compassionate outlook among young people.

Openness: The candidate can live in any country in the world and practice any profession.

Exclusion and withdrawal conditions

Political party independence: A person who has clearly committed to a political party through his public activities may not be nominated.

Hate speech and exclusion: If the organizers or the judging panel become aware that the nominee supports hate speech or exclusion in any form, the nomination will be automatically disqualified.

Right of withdrawal: The organizers reserve the right to withdraw the nomination or any award if it is subsequently proven that the candidate does not meet the specified criteria.

The process and criteria of the evaluation

Nominations are judged in a transparent, two-round system. Following the pre-selection, committee members score the candidates independently, and then select the awardees with the most significant social impact from among the finalists in a subsequent round.

The judging process

Pre-selection: The organizers will check the received materials and exclude incomplete or non-compliant nominations.

Individual evaluation: The members of the evaluation committee score the valid candidates independently, based on the specified criteria.

Final decision-making: After the points are totaled, the committee will select the award winners from the candidates with the highest points in a subsequent round. The committee's decision is not subject to dispute.
